Question How to make the new Disk get detected by SAN Storage ?
IBM 1722-600 DS4300
1. one of the hot spare disk failed
2. Replaced the hot spare Failed disk with a new disk
4. However, DS Software, shows EMPTY DRIVE SLOT
Logical drives on HP Smart Array P800 not recognized after rebooting. Smart Array P400 in Slot 1 Controller Status. No, we did not move any of the drives.
(slot 12)
- Disks 1 and 2 are being shown as detected whereas disks 3 and 4 are being shown as not detected. When I take out all drives and then start putting them back in, the drives in the slots 1 and 2 don't get detected, when I put back in the drive in slot 3, it get's detected as drive 1 and the drive in slot 4 then get's detected as drive 2.
- How can I force HP Smart Array RAID controller to re-recognize drives? 1785-Slot 0 Drive Array Not Configured Drive positions appear to have changed. If missing logical drives are detected because drives have accidentally been removed, or are detected as missing due to a loss of power to the drive enclosures, recovery of these logical drives is possible by:
Re-inserting the drives back into the drive enclosure.
Ensuring that the drive enclosure's power supplies are properly connected to an operating power source, and have an Optimal status.
What Caused the Problem?

The storage subsystem has detected that the drives associated with a logical drive are no longer accessible. This can be the result of removing all drives associated with an array or a loss of power to one or more drive enclosures.
Caution Electrostatic discharge can damage sensitive components. Use a grounding wrist strap or other anti-static precautions before removing or handling components.
