The 2018 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) came to a thrilling conclusion on Nov. 25 when Jerome L’Hostis took down the GUKPT Grand Final Main Event in London. Grosvenor Casinos have wasted no time in letting their customers know the plans for the 2019 poker calendar, which make interesting reading.

2019 GUKPT Schedule

The 2019 GUKPT is the 13th season of the popular tour. This latest edition features nine legs, eight standard GUKPT stops with Main Events costing between £560 and £1,110 with guarantees of £100,000 to £200,000, plus the £2,650 buy-in Grand Final Main Event that now has a £500,000 guaranteed prize pool, up from £400,000.

Following feedback from players on the GUKPT, each 2019 GUKPT Mini Main Event will feature an online Day 1 held at Grosvenor Poker. This means players can play a Day 1 from the comfort of their own homes, or on the move via the Grosvenor Poker mobile app, and not have to travel to the venue until they have made Day 2 or want to take another shot at a Day 1.

The hugely popular 25/25 Series continues in 2019 with no less than 35 stops planned. These tournaments cost £225 to enter and feature a £25,000 guaranteed prize pool. Like the 2019 GUKPT Main Events, there will be an online Day 1 held on the Wednesday before each live Day 1, giving players more flexibility.

Seasonal Specials

Other popular festivals return for 2019 and should prove to be a major hit. The Easter Beast, Summer Sizzler and Christmas Cracker all return. They each cover seven regions, each featuring a £115 buy-in tournament with £20,000 guaranteed prize pools.

This format sees players play Day 1 across seven regions before combining for Day 2 to play the tournament out for the title.

UK Student Poker Championship and the 2019 Goliath

The Grosvenor Casino UK Student Poker Championship returns to Coventry from Apr. 23 for a week-long festival. The UKSPC has long been a popular stop for students all around the UK and, if previous editions are anything to go by, there should be plenty of fun and off-the-table antics to get involved in.

Keep Jul. 27 free if you fancy attempting to slay the Goliath. This tournament has broken the attendance record for the past couple of events, with the 2018 Goliath attracting a crowd of 7,584. Florian Duta won the event this year for £101,450. The 2019 Goliath guarantees the champion will walk away with at least £100,000.

New Deepstack and National League

Grosvenor Casinos is putting the finishing touches to its new Deepstack events that will take place at various destinations each weekend, giving players the chance to turn £150 into share of a guaranteed £12,000.

The Grosvenor G Casino Manchester is now the home to the North West of England’s largest poker room following a £1.7 million investment from Rank Group Plc.

Unveiled on July 12, the new 240-seat and 24 table poker room is the largest in the North West of England and one of the largest poker rooms in the United Kingdom. The new poker room will be a key destination for gamers and made available for private functions, regular cash games and private poker tuition. Of course, the new room will host a Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) festival as well as other national poker events.

To celebrate the reopening of the poker room, the G Casino Manchester on Bury new Road, is to host a number of tournaments that have at least £15,500 in unconditional guaranteed prizes every week throughout July.

It is not only the poker room that has benefited from the investment; the entire casino has been given an overhaul and now features the “Gold Room,” a private area for high stakes players. Also, 40-state-of-the-art slot machines and electronic games have been added to the casino’s existing offering.
